Bring your exhibit to the Keynsham Scout HQ on either Friday 27th March from 5-7pm or Saturday 28th March between 8-10am.

Tuesday 24th February 2026 – Flower Demonstration: ‘She came to tea’ by Kathryn Delve at Saltford Hall 2pm.
Come and enjoy an entertaining afternoon watching Kathryn create a variety of lovely designs. She is a Master Florist based in Yatton and has studied with and taught for the inspirational floristry College ‘The British Academy of Floral Art’. This has given her the opportunity to demonstrate in the USA, compete and exhibit at RHS shows and achieve her Master Diploma in Floristry. What better way could you spend a miserable Tuesday afternoon than in the warm watching some amazing floral creations being made.
Refreshments will be available plus the chance to win one of Kathryn’s amazing arrangements as a raffle prize. Non-members £8 on the door. Starts promptly at 2pm.

We are holding our 65th Annual General Meeting at The Crown in Saltford in the Buddha Tea Rooms, come for 12 for 12:30 start. We will have a pub meal, a Silent Auction and a Flower competition with the theme of Tartan followed by our AGM.

Christmas Workshop – Making Floral Table Decorations
Come and have fun making Xmas table decorations using floral techniques, no experience is necessary. Bring some small containers, artificial foliage, berries, fir cones & flowers.
There will be some containers and decorations to purchase on the day from our sales table.
We will have a super raffle with a range of beauty hampers & refreshments will be available. Visitors are welcome to pay £7 on the door.
Tuesday 23rd September, 2pm, Saltford Hall Demonstration with Dawn Keitley on the theme ‘Autumn from Lavender Cottage’
Autumn colours and interesting flower combinations are the theme this time. Enjoy an afternoon watching this demonstration and hearing about the flowers and foliage that can be grown for maximum colour.
Do come along for an interesting afternoon and hopefully you will stagger home with a stunning flower arrangement!2pm
Outing to Caisson Gardens
Although our members have lived in the Bath area for a long time, none of us had any idea such a stunning lasnscape was nestling nearby.
Everyone was fascinated by the these gardens which are steeped in history and have been beautifully restored by Amanda & Phil the owners.
Having enjoyed wandered around the gardens, refreshments & lovely cakse were served.

Tuesday 24th June 2025 – 2pm, Flower Demonstration by Germaine Smith at Saltford Hall
Come and spend a couple of hours enjoying the expertise of Germaine Smith, a NAFAS Area Demonstrator, showcase her innovative floral arrangements. Pick up some techniques to use at home and see a variety of foliage and flowers artfully combined to please the eye.
Arrive with plenty of time to enjoy refreshments and chat with friends. Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for a chance to win one of Germaine’s arrangements.
Visitors are welcome and can pay £8 on the door.
Tuesday 27th May 2025 at Saltford Hall 2pm
This month we are challenging ourselves to learn a new skill; making Macrame Hangers for either a flower arrangement or a plant.
We will have instructions of what to do and it will be fun as we twist the string one way and another and try not to tie ourselves up in knots!
Bring a small pot with Oasis in it and flowers if doing an arrangement.
Visitors are welcome and can purchase strings & rings on arrival.
Refreshments will be available along with a sales table and a raffle.
Starts at 2pm promptly so come early to get a good seat and buy your raffle tickets, all the stunning arrangements are put into the raffle. Non-members pay on the door £8.

Masterclass in making Corsages, Prom flowers or small table arrangements:
Learn how to make Corsages, Flowers to be worn on the wrist to match a Prom or wedding dress & Small table arrangements.

Tuesday February 25th 2025 – Flower demonstration with Carole Norman
Carole kindly stood in for Sally Taylor as our demonstrator. She did some lovely arrangements which were accompanied by a very witty repartee.
Some very lucky people went home with these wonderful arrangements.
Our AGM went well and The Crown Buddha Lounge was very appropriate with lots of floral decorations. Maddie was the winner of the flower competition Fruity Tutti with a lovely arrangement in a glass lantern which she cleverly adds stained glass.

Tuesday 14th January 2025 AGM instead of the 28thJanuary.
We are holding the AGM earlier in January this year in The Crown pub in Saltford in the Budda Bar at 12:30. We will order lunch from their menu when we get there.
The AGM will be held around the food and drink. Please bring items for our Silent Auction. Our Flower Competition this year is ‘Fruity Tutti’ an arrangement with Fruit in it along with foliage & flowers.
Please confirm by email that you can or can’t make it, I have some names on our list but it would be helpful if you can confirm you are still coming and whether or not you will be eating. We would like to collect our membership fee if you are paying by cheque otherwise you can do a bank transfer after the meeting. Spoiler alert, we are hoping to increase the fees to £47.

Christmas Demonstration by Germaine Smith
‘Take four candles’
Germaine, a qualified flower arranger, will share her ideas for Christmas decorations. Do come along and get some inspiration and enjoy a festive afternoon with refreshments and mince pies. All the floral arrangements will be put into the raffle and there will be a sales table too. Visitors are welcome to pay cash on the door – £8.

This is a fun afternoon watching a professional florist create some modern flower arrangements. All flower designs go into the raffle.
Refreshments will be available and there will be a plants on the sales table.
Members’ Day Tea was very enjoyable with lots of delicious sandwiches and cake. We sat in Christine’s beautiful garden surrounded by flowers. Congratulations go to Julie Latham who won our flower competition, ‘Less is more’.

Christine is hosting our Members’ Day Tea this year, it will be great to get together & swop news over a sumptuous tea. Our flower competition title this year is ‘less is more’, do keep it small as space is limited.

Tuesday 23rd July – Flower Club outing to Milton Lodge Gardens near Wells.
We had a wonderful visit to Milton Lodge Gardens, we were greeted by Simon who introduced us to his family home and made sure everyone had refreshments and cake. The gardener gave us a guided tour which was fascinating. The views are stunning and the borders are very colourful.
Tuesday 25th June 2pm Saltford Hall – Flower Demonstration ‘On the Spot’ by Elizabeth Witcomb
A demonstration with a difference! Come and see how Elizabeth produces some amazing designs on the spot using a selection of containers and flowers she hasn’t seen beforehand.
Visit our sales table for a variety of useful items and do buy plenty of raffle tickets to stand a chance of winning a super arrangement.

Tuesday 23rd April 2023 – Flower Demonstration ‘Out of Africa’ by Jenny York
Jenny wowed us with her floral designs, she is an entertaining demonstrator with amusing tales of her time in Africa in the Foreign Office. The picture shows an arrangement tied into the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to South Africa.
Easter Bonnet Workshop £15 – Tuesday 26th April Saltford Hall 2pm.
This is a fun activity just before Easter, using a small bonnet to create a door or hat arrangement using wreath making techniques or similar flower arrangements.
Provided for Workshop participants:
• Bonnets, eggs, ribbons
• Chicks, rabbits
• Artificial or fresh flowers
• Foliage e.g. Ivy, cornice

Our June demonstration was by Caroline Cooper entitled ‘The Language of Flowers’. Beautiful arrangements and a very interesting afternoon.
Some members of Saltford & Keynsham Flower Club went to Salisbury Cathedral to see the Celebration: A Festival of Flowers.
What amazing arrangements- this rainbow arch represents the contribution of keyworkers and volunteers to their communities during the pandemic.
To commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee a replica of the Queen’s Coronation robe made from purple pampas grass, gilded dried foliage and ferns was displayed before the High Alter.
Tuesday 26th Aprl 14:00- Demonstration with Leslie Hunt ‘Beside the Seaside’.
What a treat, we had an uplifting and interesting demonstration, tempting us with better weather to stroll along the beach and collect things for our arrangements. It was very enjoyable, please see the Pictures page.
Don’t forget to sign up for our outing on Tuesday 26th July to The American Museum and Members’ Day Tea on Tuesday 23rd August which will be held in Christine Pidcock’s garden.
National Flower Arranging Day is on Friday 6th May, the idea is to promote our club and it would be great if you could do a few small arrangements and leave them somewhere for people to take home. Christine is going to put an arrangement in Keynsham Library to advertise our club.
Our May practice session on Tuesday 24th we will be making Ribbon stars, Roses & Jubilee Flowers.
On Saturday July 2nd we will have a table at the Affiliated Clubs’ Morning in Saltford Hall please let Janet know if you can help for a few hours.
